The Team members are looking forward to serving everyone! Hope to see you there!
My name is Carly Strohmeyer and I am the current captain of the Edinboro University Equestrian Team. This is my fourth year on the team and second year as captain. I wanted to spread the word about an upcoming fundraiser on November 29, 2011 from 5:30-7:30pm at the Pizza Hut in Edinboro. That night the team will be guest servers there and be able to keep the tips as well as a percentage of the buffet sales. We are reaching out to the local equestrian community to help us raise money for traveling and horse show expenses.
I would like to tell you all a little bit about the team as many of you may not know about our great program. 2011 marks the eleventh birthday of the Edinboro Equestrian team. We currently have 10 members ranging from freshman to senior, and beginner to advanced riders. The officers are Carly Strohmeyer, Captain; Jamie Nicklas, Co-Captain; Lauren Scardina, Treasurer; and Kiley Izskula, Secretary. Our coach is Lew Trumble, our advisor is Walter Patterson and we ride at Brenric Stables. We are a part of Zone 6 Region 5 and compete against 13 other colleges. Two years ago we were Reserve Champions of the region. Last weekend we traveled to West Virginia for a competition where we took home the Championship title and were Reserve Champions of the first competition of the year held at Slippery Rock University! On the weekend of November 26th and 27th we will be traveling to Coolville, Ohio for a two day show. Our yearly schedule consists of 8-10 horse shows, most of which are 3-5 hours away and involve staying in a hotel. We are doing this fundraiser to raise money because every year the University Student Government cuts our funds more and we all know riding horses is expensive (and so is college)!
We really look forward to serving you on the evening of November 29th at the Edinboro Pizza Hut! Hope that you are able to come out and support the team.
Thank you,
Carly Strohmeyer
