Looking for Show Chairs

Posted by Andrew on February 27, 2017

The volunteer board of the Saddle Club has been busy planning events for the summer.

Now we need to ask for volunteers to help run them, including event chair people! (If you've never done it we may be able to team you up or work something out.)

So check out the schedule below and call Brittany Hartley -- handling the horse show and event scheduling for this year -- at 602-7325 or e-mail her at hartley.brittany88@gmail.com.

Check out the dates below, and please consider helping out with your experience and time. The club depends -- and is always grateful for -- our event chair people.

*Founded in 1962 under the motto “Horsemanship through Knowledge,” the Erie Hunt & Saddle Club has more than 50 acres of riding grounds on the corner of Eureka and Old State Roads in Franklin Center, just outside Erie, PA. (6840 Old State Road, Edinboro PA 16412.) We are the region’s premier nonprofit location for equine education, shows, and events.

Our riding grounds include three, sand-footed show and dressage rings, permanent stabling for 110 horses (with running water and electric), an announcer’s stand with permanent and portable sound systems, and a clubhouse with a kitchen and seating areas. We have stadium fences, lower-level cross-country schooling fences, and access to a cross-country course that can support starter through intermediate level riders and events.

We hold close to 30 horse shows and events from May through October, including two United States’ Equestrian Association recognized horse trails. In addition to the shows, we offer equine training and riding clinics throughout the year, contribute to -- and work with -- area charities, including our local Pony Club and 4H Clubs.

We bring hundreds of equestrians, their friends and family to our club from throughout the tri-state region and beyond.
